There are a few things you should know about Harriet. A) She is always on time, b) she likes to have a project on the go and c) she is already struggling to write about herself in the third person.
Welcome to The Harriella Project. This is one of Harriet’s aforementioned projects, in which she writes about anything and everything in her life. Harriet is a writer, reader and editor living near London. One day, she hopes to live in a flat in London, preferably with a small (or large) balcony.
Harriet has a few annoying habits. One of these habits is using too many brackets in her writing to try and be funny. It’s not funny, it just gives the impression that her life has a running commentary of almost-witty asides. It doesn’t.
Her life is actually pretty normal. She lives in a house with her parents in a very middle-class place that is £20 outside of London. She has a cat called Millie who may as well be a fifth family member, and enjoys watching period dramas and medical documentaries with her Mum on a Saturday night. She does also have some friends, with whom she likes to have Insta-worthy brunches and picnics in Hyde Park (both of these things have happened once).
One day, Harriet would like to write a novel, but for now she’s happy to write what she hopes are interesting/entertaining/relatable pieces on this blog, as well as freelance articles for magazines. She also works as an Assistant Editor at a magazine in Brixton and still can’t quite believe her luck. She has only recently discovered that it is in fact possible to write and get paid for it.
If you’d like to have a conversation with Harriet in the first person, she would be more than happy to chat via Instagram/Facebook/email/Twitter. If you’re stuck for a conversation starter, books are usually a good bet. Alternatively, advice on how to do a messy bun would be much appreciated.
